The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online Expository Writing tutors with students nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make an impact on students’ learning journeys—all from home.

Base pay

$18.00/hr - $40.00/hr

What you’ll do

• Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Use the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments and you get paid—up to twice per week.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

What we look for in a tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
