As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students in Expository Writing.
• Deliver engaging, clear instruction and adapt to different learning styles.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Use the Live Learning Platform to tutor remotely—no commuting required.
• Match with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time support and lesson generation.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments and logistics.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour with continued sessions with the same student.
