Maslow Media Group is hiring: Audio Technician in New York

Overview

The Maslow Media Group, Inc. seeks Freelance Audio Technicians in the New York City area that would be available with short notice as well as advance bookings for assignments in the NYC midtown area.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 32-channel audio board or road cases with up to 32 channels active.
• Set up wireless microphones, audio cables, speakers, and remote audio boards.
• Operate to provide good audio levels in meeting situations using various numbers of microphones (from 5 to 32).
• Set up cabling where an audio road case with mixer is in use and connect the audio to external speakers and/or the house system as necessary.
• Connect the audio road case (cables, etc.) to external video conference units and/or QUMU units to ensure remote sites hear the meeting simultaneously.
• Set up_audio playback from devices such as a laptop, iPod, iPad, or DVD to the house system, record unit, and any remote broadcast equipment in use.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of television production skills with a strong understanding of computer skills to troubleshoot issues (e.g., laptop not showing on a monitor).
• Run audio/video cables (XLR, BNC, and computer cables VGA) in remote settings to a production Remote Road Case and to monitors set up throughout the room, ensuring camera feed and computer feed appear on the screens.
• Prepare for possible remote video conference broadcasting and QUMU usage as required.
• Work efficiently in time-constrained environments where knowledge of how all units work is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate 32-channel audio equipment and manage up to 32 active channels.
• Experience setting up and wiring audio equipment, wireless mics, and remote audio boards.
• Understanding of audio playback integration with laptops and other playback devices to house systems and remote broadcast equipment.
• Strong television production skills and computer skills to troubleshoot on-site problems (e.g., laptop display issues).
• Experience running AV cables (XLR, BNC, VGA) to remote road cases and monitors.
• Ability to coordinate audio for remote video conference or QUMU broadcasts.
• Availability for short-notice and advance NYC midtown bookings.
