Freelance Video Technicians (Utility) Job at Maslow Media Group in New York

Overview

The Maslow Media Group seeks Freelance Broadcast Video Technicians (Utility) in the New York City area that would be available with short notice, as well as advance bookings for assignments in the NYC midtown area.

Must have ability to set up cameras (multiple cameras) for interview(s) with various backdrops, lighting equipment for a multiple-camera shoot and audio.

Responsibilities

• Set up talent with lapel mics and/or operate boom mics when needed for video production, ensuring good clean audio signals and recording.
• Run cables from Remote video road case to monitors so that camera and power point feed can be seen on monitors and recorded; ensure switched feed is set up in a timely manner so meetings are not delayed or hindered by poor video signal.
• Send audio feed from audio road case to video road case and to house audio system or standalone speakers; ensure audio levels sent to house speakers and to the recording are clean and at appropriate levels.
• Set up Video Road Case and remote video conference unit and ensure both are receiving the audio/video feed for recording and/or broadcast using remote Audio/Video Production Road Cases.
• Operate in a manner commensurate with the job, with a complete understanding of television production skills and values, plus a keen understanding of computer skills to troubleshoot issues with laptops or displays.
• Run audio/video cables (XLR, BNC, and computer cables VGA) in a remote setting to a production Road Case and to monitors so that camera feed and computer feed appear on screens.
• Occasionally support broadcasts that may require a remote Video Conference unit; complete tasks within tight timeframes when necessary.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of television production workflows and equipment setup.
• Ability to troubleshoot computer-related display issues in remote production environments.
• Willingness to work on short notice and to travel within the NYC area, including Midtown Manhattan.
• Must be able to pass a background check prior to working.
