As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for producing high quality documentation appropriate to its intended audience, and will ensure that development and delivery of documentation is consistent and compliant with regulatory and company guidelines.
This full-time position will be in the Package Engineering and Product Labeling organization of Siemens Healthineers and responsible for product labeling for immuno and chemistry assays. You will join a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to make our products easier to use. This position requires general guidance on new assignments and processes, but day-to-day work is expected to be completed with little instruction.
The Technical Writer will work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product(s). This position requires the application of existing standard instructions for use content as well as potential new content with a strong focus on reuse and single-source opportunities.
Required skills for the success of this role include excellent English written skills, demonstrated ability to write English for translations, proven Life Sciences technical writing experience, and a strong working knowledge of XML content management including publication structures, content reuse and content development protocols.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit instructions for use for medical device immunoassays and chemistry assays customer-facing documentation using an XML content management system, ensuring all deliverables meet project plans; experience with authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign, and MS preferred.
- Work in XML authoring within a Content Management System and Desktop Publishing as required.
- Demonstrate understanding of Medical Device compliance with FDA and international regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with good documentation practices and end-to-end document management protocols (check-in/check-out, version control, reviews, approvals, and releases).
- Communicate clearly, translating complex data into understandable content.
- Collaborate with department team members and cross-functional SMEs to develop content for instructions for use.
- Write in English with consideration for translations; understand clinical data and extract key information for accurate labeling.
- Utilize standard business applications for document control, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; stay highly organized and able to prioritize tasks.
- Work effectively in a remote/virtual environment with professional conduct and timeliness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, science, business, or related field; Technical Writing Certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct technical writing experience in a medical device manufacturing company; experience with XML-based content management systems and tools like FrameMaker and InDesign; prior writing in a regulated industry; science background is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The Annual Base Pay for this position is: Min $89,000 – Max $133,500. Pay may vary by geography, skills, education, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid time off, and more, subject to eligibility.
