Overview
Lutron is seeking a forward-thinking and customer-centric Manager to lead our market intelligence and customer strategy efforts, based out of New York City, NY or Conshohocken, PA. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping how we understand and engage with our commercial audiences including architects, contractors, engineers, developers, key corporate end-users, and integrators by delivering actionable insights that fuel innovation, sharpen differentiation, and accelerate growth. Responsibilities
Customer & Market Insights: Lead voice of customer research to uncover needs, behaviors, and pain points across key commercial personas. Analyze customer behavior, product usage, and market dynamics to uncover insights that inform product development, channel strategy, and marketing campaigns. Marketing Intelligence & Competitive Benchmarking: Monitor competitors, pricing models, and emerging technologies across lighting, shading and smart control systems. Deliver actionable recommendations to influence business, product, and marketing strategies. Track emerging trends in smart building technologies, energy efficiency, daylighting, and automation to anticipate shifts in customer demand and regulatory landscape. Strategic Segmentation & Persona Development: Develop detailed customer personas and audience segments based on project type and building application. Enable targeted campaign strategies and tailored messaging and decision-making roles to inform targeted marketing and product strategies. Customer Journey Mapping & Experience Optimization: Map the full customer journey from specification to installation and post-sale engagement. Identify friction points and partner with internal teams to improve customer experience and retention. Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth competitive benchmarking across lighting, shading, and control systems to identify market gaps, pricing strategies, and innovation opportunities. Testing & Optimization: Lead A/B and multivariate testing initiatives to validate messaging, product positioning, and campaign effectiveness across digital and traditional channels. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field ( MBA preferred ) 10+ years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing, preferably in architecture, engineering, or design industries Demonstrated track record in customer research, insights, and strategic marketing Established analytical and storytelling skills with experience in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) Deep understanding of the construction project lifecycle and specification process Experience collaborating with product, sales, and engineering teams in a matrixed environment Starting pay (NY): $140,000 - $175,000 per year.
