The Expeditor transports materials to and between various shops and shipping/receiving based on the needs of the operations. Ensures inventory accuracy and availability by verifying documentation and exercising diligence when handling all inventory items. Maintains a productive, safe, and respectful work environment within the Inventory/Logistics areas by following processes outlined in the appropriate company manuals. Remains continuously engaged in seeking improved methods to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour. Schedule: Monday - Friday (day shift). May need to occasionally work weekends.

What You Will Do:

  • Delivers materials to Shops and transfers materials between Shops/Departments/Warehouses.
  • Maintains digital records of material locations and movements not digitally tracked in the company ERP.
  • Utilizes material moving equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, fork lift, or vehicle) or transfers by hand.
  • Coordinates with Procurement, Planning, Spares, warehouse personnel, shop leads, shipping, and receiving staff to ensure timely delivery of high-priority items.
  • Tracks and follows up on outstanding orders, backordered parts, and delayed deliveries; provides updates to requesting departments.
  • Prioritizes and delivers materials to support production schedules, maintenance work orders, and emergency requests.
  • Maintains clear records of material transfers and expedite requests using internal inventory management software.
  • Conducts regular rounds across campus buildings to ensure visibility and communication of urgent material needs.

Shop and Field Support:

  • Assists internal customers with matters within the scope of the Inventory Department.
  • Answers questions accurately and expeditiously by verbal, written, and electronic means.
  • Delivers materials as requested by using various means including company vehicles and equipment.
  • Delivers freight to vendors, freight forwarders, and internal customers' jobsites.

Inventory Department:

  • Maintains inventory accuracy and availability.
  • Uses company's ERP system to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintains a clean and professional department that promotes continuous improvement.

What We Need From You:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and tractors.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL medical certification.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Willingness to work overtime and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and proposals clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, other departments, warehouses, and stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred, or must be willing to complete training and certification within 3 months.
