ANCHOR PACKAGING is a growing manufacturer of disposable food service packaging located in Northeastern Arkansas and is looking for experienced INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHS. Anchor Packaging operates 4 locations in NE Arkansas. The NE Arkansas area offers a variety of activities in a medium-size college community as well as rural communities, all within a short drive of large metro areas. The area has excellent schools, affordable housing, and exceptional healthcare. Anchor Packaging has experienced tremendous growth since the early 60’s with no lay-offs or cut-backs. Our plants operate on 12-hour shifts with team members working 4 shifts one week, followed by 3 shifts the next. We offer 2 days shift and 2 night shifts.

Starting pay will DOE and skills. This is a Safety Sensitive Position under the Medicinal Marijuana Provisions of the State of Arkansas.

Purpose

To install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and physical structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Must possess the ability to visually inspect and test machinery or equipment, diagnose electrical problems, and perform necessary repairs needed to safely install and/or return production equipment to acceptable operating condition.
  2. Dismantles defective machinery and equipment. Correctly installs reconditioned, new, or repaired parts.
  3. Carry out planned maintenance activities such as cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery or plant equipment, as well as installing and repairing electrical apparatus (transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components).
  4. Plan out and install plumbing assemblies to maintain pipe systems, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, and repair or replace gauges, valves, and related equipment.
  5. Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  6. Have a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot plant machinery and equipment.
  7. Set up and operate machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine) to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  8. Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  9. Require basic carpentry skills (fabricating or repairing counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures) and some masonry skills.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associates degree from a two-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also, the ability to calculate basic functions of geometry such as finding area, volume, and perimeter.

Computer Skills

Basic understanding of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to search the internet for information.

Certificates and Licenses

Industrial Maintenance Certification or equivalent job experience.

Positions Available

Tech I, Tech II, and Tech III positions available. Based on skill set, maintenance assessment, experience, education, etc. Testing and hands-on assessment may be required.
