Lecturer- Visual and Performing Arts (Pool) - 36305 Faculty
The College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Visual and Performing Arts from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. The position may involve teaching various courses for Visual and Performing Arts; exact courses taught will depend on department need and may be in person or online. This posting is to create a pool of applicants for potential future needs; qualified individuals will be contacted as needed.
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position.
Responsibilities
The lecturer pool is used to fill temporary, non-tenure track teaching assignments. Responsibilities include:
- Teach assigned Visual and Performing Arts courses (in-person, online, or hybrid as determined by course modality).
- Prepare and deliver course content, assessments, and materials in alignment with program goals.
- Engage in professional responsibilities appropriate for lecturers, including meeting deadlines and adhering to university policies.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Master’s degree in the field OR significant field experience documented in a Letter of Expertise submitted to HR in lieu of transcripts. Letters of Expertise are written by the department chair of the relevant teaching area.
Salary, Benefits, and Work Location
Salary/Pay Range: $1,045 per credit hour. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Because this appointment is temporary, you will not be eligible to receive all benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits; however, you are eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours per hour worked. Work location will be determined by course modality: on-campus, online, or hybrid. Remote teaching opportunities may be available under certain conditions.
