Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - UI Health Care Specialty Clinic 80%
University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered 80% (32 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our Northgate Urology Clinic. This specialty clinic provides medical and surgical care for male and female patients, with selected services for pediatric patients. This position will primarily support patients at Northgate Urology Clinic but may float to other clinic locations based on clinical needs/hours.
Our team provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment in the clinic setting as well as surgical interventions for urologic system diseases and disorders. UI Health Care is a national leader in diagnosing and treating bladder and urinary disorders in adults and children. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together medical and surgical specialties to deliver patient-centered care. We build relationships, monitor patient care history, and deliver personalized, compassionate care to each patient.

Duties to include:
- Support the Urology Clinic as assigned.
- Work under the direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
- Perform technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
- Use electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Percent of Time: 80% (32 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday – Friday; variable hours 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Location: Iowa City, IA (and surrounding sites based on clinical needs/hours within up to a two-hour radius)
Salary: $35,646.34 to $53,102.02 / year; hourly range $21.34 – $31.79 (based on years of experience)
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for a temporary work permit. Responsible to complete required continuing education hours to maintain LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider
Special Qualification/License:
- Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.
Desired Requirements
- Experience in Family Medicine or Urology Clinic is preferred
- Team-oriented work experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Computer skills and ability to navigate EMR (Epic) and Microsoft Word
