Missing Pieces Support Group is a nonprofit organization organized by a group of women who have experienced pregnancy losses ranging from first-term miscarriages to stillborns that is dedicated to uplifting underserved communities through advocacy, education, and resource connection. We know the emotional and physical toll that this type of loss carries, and we are committed to helping others in this situation.
Our mission is to bring awareness to pregnancy loss and offer support to grieving families by: Providing informational resources,
Forming a mindful community that bridges the gap between similar support services
Providing a platform that gives families the opportunity to share their stories online.
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Grant Writer to join our team in a volunteer capacity.This is a volunteer opportunity for anyone interested in donating their time to our non-profit, not a paid position. The Grant Writer is responsible for finding funding opportunities for Missing Pieces Support Group, Inc. and writing polished proposals to earn grant money. Their duties include researching deadlines, drafting grant requests, submitting reports for approval, and working with other Grantmakers to support similar efforts by other team members. Qualifications Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with a diverse team
Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
Multitasking, organizational and time management skills
Available to work remotely with a flexible schedule of approximately 5 hrs per week
Bonus if you have... Experience in working with non-profits or 501(c)(3) organizations
Proven experience with obtaining grant funding or conducting grant research for an organization
Major Responsibilities: Research new grant opportunities that align with organization mission, vision, and values
Enter and monitor data to maintain list of new grant opportunities, constantly ensuring information is up-to-date
Prepare grant proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, incorporating feedback, and obtaining approvals
Coordinate with relevant team members and contribute proposal status information to team meetings
Collaborate with other team members to provide feedback and suggested revisions on draft grant proposals prior to submission
TIME COMMITMENT Volunteer role with flexible hours (estimated 4-6 hours per week)
Remote option available, preference would be in person in Houston/Dallas
Ideal for individuals seeking experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or admin support
