The Amazon Device Design Team is an inventive R&D group that designs and develops high-profile consumer electronics. What began as Lab126 in 2004 has grown into the Device Design Team behind beloved products like Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. We are looking for a Senior CNC Prototyping Specialist to join us in our mission of creating what's next. As a Senior CNC Prototyping Specialist, you'll be responsible for delivering innovative CNC programming and machining capabilities to support rapid prototyping needs. This includes data creation, machine setup, post-finishing, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work to expand our CNC expertise, leveraging external resources and complementary fabrication techniques. Responsibilities

Orders and manages consumables, ensures proper waste disposal, and oversees day-to-day equipment maintenance Provides strategic input on new equipment as part of annual capital planning Confirms safety protocols and maintains a clean, organized work environment Works closely with Facilities to ensure regulatory compliance Contributes to prototypes, including functional mock-ups, texture studies, critical fixtures, and engineered components Supports discovery of new prototyping and manufacturing technologies that could unlock future possibilities Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on experience operating and post-processing a variety of CNC equipment (Datron, HAAS, Okuma, etc.) 7+ years of CAD/CAM software experience for component creation, modification, and toolpath processing 7+ years of CNC shop floor management or team leadership Associate's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo, Rhino, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks Expertise in CAM software such as SolidCAM, HyperMill, Siemens NX, and Mastercam Proven ability to innovate with current technology and extend capabilities through prototyping Passion for collaborative problem-solving and a customer-obsessed mindset Equal Opportunity and Accommodations

The base pay for this position ranges from $138,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
