Designer — Major Toy and Media/Pop-Culture Company (Hybrid, El Segundo, California) Scope: 3-month w2 contract to hire with a high potential to extend or convert. Includes options for medical, dental, vision benefits and holiday pay. Hourly Rate: 38 to 43/hr Responsibilities
Develop assets and support graphic design needs for our client’s portfolio of brands, with direction from Lead Designers and Global Creative Director. Create brand-right assets for consumer products, style guides, asset packs, product mockups, and general graphic design support for the franchise marketing team. Work closely with peers to ensure assets are usable and applicable to all consumer product categories globally. Maintain a strong sense of graphic design for products across apparel, sporting goods, stationery, backpacks, etc. Utilize Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PowerPoint as primary design tools; focus on vector-based design. Design within brands, themes, categories, and age ranges. Deliver projects on time. Work with Lead Designers and Global Creative Director to understand and fulfill creative briefs and tackle creative tasks, including creating one-sheets, inspiration decks, graphics, and PowerPoint presentations with direction. Participate in the development phase of the style guide production. Track current and emerging visual and consumer trends and curate for the client’s portfolio of brands and product categories. Actively participate in team brainstorm sessions and cross-functional sessions for new asset ideas, product development, and innovation. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years professional experience in Graphic Design, preferably for apparel and other consumer products. Skilled in graphic design, especially vector-based design. Excellent in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint. Must be very good with time management, prioritization, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on multiple projects. Strong communication skills to articulate all design ideas. Licensing Experience Is Preferred But Not Required.
Requires strong knowledge of color theory, layout, composition, and typography. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment. Drawing and sketching to communicate ideas is a plus! Competencies Required
Must submit a portfolio for consideration. Team player working with a diverse group of talent. Sense of urgency and efficiency. Organized self-starter. Professional maturity: the ability to assimilate constructive criticism and execute accordingly. Positive attitude and flexibility.
