Overview Job Title: Communications Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Chicago IL Duration: September 2025 to February 2026 (possible extension) Pay: $21.82/hr on W2 Under the direct guidance of Strategic Communications team members and management, this position is responsible for supporting a variety of internal communications to meet the needs of multiple audiences through interaction with clients and subject matter experts. In this extremely fast-moving environment, all job expectations must be met on time with excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service orientation, a high degree of flexibility, a professional demeanor and the ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly shifting deadlines with a sense of urgency. (formatting, reviewing) Basic project management
(timelines, deliverables) Detail orientation & organizational strength Quick ramp-up & collaborative working style Experience with business support platforms
(e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project Source, Excel, SharePoint) Primary assignments
Editing & Content : First-pass editing, HCSC voice alignment, formatting/quality review Project Management : Manage recurring projects (e.g., Impact Report, Volunteer of the Year), track deliverables, maintain documentation Town Halls/Events : Logistics & communications support Secondary assignments
Maintain calendars & timelines Track bi-weekly project updates/deliverables Support routine creative/communications requests
(e.g., meeting invitations, targeted email announcements, HCSC News article submissions) Administrative support
as needed Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications 2 years corporate communications
(internal/employee preferred), or related field, work experience
