Job Description
Basic Purpose

The advertising account manager will work to secure advertising and sponsorship contracts for multiple products across OTRD's platforms. This includes print, digital, social media, podcasting, and events.

Typical Functions
  • Develop and foster relationships with potential clients; Maintain relationships with existing clients
  • Research prospects for new clients within a variety of vertical markets
  • Collaborate with clients on their marketing needs and goals; prepare client proposals that include our products and platforms that will best help meet the client goals
  • Stay current with advertising & marketing trends to identify best options and new opportunities for clients
  • Build and maintain professional networks within the tourism industry and other industries relevant to OTRD' s products
  • Work to secure group subscription accounts for Oklahoma Today with companies, where appropriate
  • Work to secure advertising sponsorships for opportunities as they arise
  • Renew expiring contracts and pitch for new contracts
  • Assist in creative briefs, spec ads, and ad design approval when necessary
  • When necessary, work with the production department to produce ads that are in line with the client's goals
  • Meet assigned deadlines
  • Create and maintain daily/weekly/monthly schedules that will meet revenue goals
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Deliver relevant information from clients about events and ideas to the editorial staff
  • Adhere to ASME and MPA guidelines regarding the separation of advertising and editorial content
Education and Experience

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; previous sales experience required.

  • Comfortable working independently or in group settings
