Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. Designers are responsible for using software to build custom designs that meet customer requirements and specifications.
Responsibilities: Attends regular development meetings Addresses limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs Makes design revisions as requested Assesses CAD designs for the ability to form correctly and not fail under load Work with members of the tooling, production, sales, and other departments as necessary Maintain proper documentation during the design process Understanding thermoforming characteristics such as shrink Communicating with appropriate departments when issues arise Ensures quality standards are upheld according to the Quality Management System Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as required Qualifications:
2+ year degree in related field Bachelors degree preferred 2+ years experience utilizing CAD software (Solidworks preferred) Knowledge of production tools and equipment (Thermoforming process and equipment preferred) Ability to problem solve in a time-sensitive environment Excellent attention to detail Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner Strong Organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to use Microsoft Office tools Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time
