Position Title: Part-Time Library Assistant

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large
• Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding library patron records and other University matters
• Checking books in and out
• Data entry
• Answering the phone
• Assisting library patrons with basic information needs and research
• Assisting with basic technology (i.e. printing, copying, scanning, etc.)
• Shelving, straightening and shifting library materials
• Processing new library materials
• Assisting staff with projects
• Managing the library's cash deposits
• Other similar duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Some college
• Some customer service experience
• Ability to perform light to medium levels of physical activity
• Visual acuity required to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work and to observe conditions of the library facility
• Close Visual Acuity for working on a computer, reading, and writing, and reading labels

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in library work
