8by8 is a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping hate against Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities by promoting civic participation through voter registration and turnout. We’re on a mission to empower the AAPI community to use their voices and create real change by increasing voter turnout, addressing critical issues, and combating hate.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative TikTok Content Creator Volunteer to join our team. In this role, you will help 8by8 expand its digital presence and engage a wider audience by creating compelling, shareable TikTok videos that promote our mission to stop Asian hate and encourage civic participation. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to use their content creation skills for a meaningful cause while building their portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create original, engaging, and informative TikTok content to raise awareness about the fight against Asian hate and the importance of voter turnout in AAPI communities.
- Collaborate with the 8by8 team to brainstorm and execute ideas for TikTok campaigns that align with our mission.
- Stay on top of TikTok trends and incorporate them into content to increase reach and engagement.
- Edit and produce short-form video content with compelling captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action.
- Help grow our TikTok following by encouraging users to participate in challenges, share videos, and spread our message.
- Monitor TikTok analytics to understand content performance and adapt strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about advocating for AAPI rights and combating hate.
- Experience creating and editing TikTok videos (personal or professional).
- Strong understanding of TikTok trends, challenges, and audience engagement tactics.
- Creative thinker with the ability to come up with original ideas for content.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of civic participation, voting rights, or social justice issues is a plus, but not required.
Time Commitment:
This is a flexible, remote volunteer opportunity. We ask for a commitment of at least 1 hour per week.
