8by8 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to stopping hate against Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities by promoting civic participation through voter registration and turnout. We’re on a mission to empower the AAPI community to use their voices and create real change by increasing voter turnout, addressing critical issues, and combating hate. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and creative Instagram Content Creator Volunteer to join our team. In this role, you will help 8by8 expand its digital presence and engage a wider audience by creating compelling, shareable Instagram content that promotes our mission. This is a great opportunity to use your content creation skills for a meaningful cause while building your portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Create original, engaging, and informative Instagram content to raise awareness about the fight against Asian hate and the importance of civic participation in AAPI communities Collaborate with the 8by8 team to brainstorm and execute ideas for Instagram posts, Reels, and Stories Stay current with trends on Instagram and apply them to increase reach and engagement Edit and produce visually strong posts with thoughtful captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action Help grow our Instagram audience by encouraging interaction and spreading our message Monitor Instagram analytics and adapt strategies based on content performance Qualifications: Passionate about advocating for AAPI rights and combating hate Experience creating and editing Instagram content (personal or professional) Understanding of Instagram trends and audience engagement strategies Creative thinker with original ideas for visual storytelling Strong communication and organizational skills Knowledge of civic participation, voting rights, or social justice is a plus, but not required Time Commitment: Flexible, remote volunteer opportunity Minimum commitment: 1 hour per week What You’ll Gain: A chance to contribute to a cause that impacts AAPI communities Experience creating content for a nonprofit, building your portfolio, and growing your digital skills Networking with professionals in activism and the nonprofit space The satisfaction of using your creativity to make a real difference If you're passionate about social justice, skilled in content creation, and ready to help amplify our message, we’d love to hear from you.
