Position Overview:

The Event Planner Assistant will work closely with the Event Planning team to support the planning and execution of the Foundation’s events. This position is primarily remote, with some in-person responsibilities on event days. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as experience in coordinating events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Event Planning team in the development of event timelines, schedules, and logistics.
  • Create and/or place orders for event materials, such as flyers, decorations, and supplies.
  • Contact and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure smooth execution of events by coordinating schedules and managing day-of logistics.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media team to provide event information and promotional materials, ensuring all materials are approved by the CEO, Heather Bankhead, prior to release.
  • Attend planning meetings via Zoom and participate in, in-person activities on designated event days.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning or project management is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable with remote work and proficient in using online collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Drive, etc.).
  • Flexibility to attend in-person events on select days throughout the year.
  • Passion for non-profit work and a commitment to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
