Web Development Business Analyst
Long-term contract-to-hire Hybrid - onsite 3x a week in Downtown HOU The Web Development Business Analyst would interface between business stakeholders and the technical application development team and be responsible for understanding and translating business needs to actionable requirements for application development. Job Functions
Requirements gathering: Meet with internal stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document project goals, business needs, functional and non-functional requirements. Process analysis and modeling: Map out existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement and facilitate the design of more efficient processes. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specification documents (FSDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria using internal templates. Solution design and validation: Work with UX designers and developers to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that demonstrate the proposed solution. Testing coordination: Coordinate the planning and execution of different testing phases including user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the final product meets all requirements. Data analysis: Collect and analyze website metrics and user behavior data to support data-driven decision-making. Liaison and communication: Facilitate communication between the business side and the technical team, ensuring that all parties are aligned, and technical complexities are understood by non-technical stakeholders. Agile methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Scrum to help refine and prioritize the product backlog with the development team. Qualifications and Skills
Educational background: Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications: such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) are valued. Familiarity with web technologies: General knowledge of web development technologies including HTML, CSS, .Net, JavaScript, and APIs. Data and analytics tools: Proficiency with Excel is required and familiarity with Power BI, Azure Insight and Dynatrace are desirable but not essential. Project management and documentation tools: Experience with Microsoft applications including Project Online, ADO, Visio, Word and PowerPoint. Analytical and critical thinking: The ability to analyze complex problems, identify opportunities, and propose practical solutions. Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences through written reports, presentations, and verbal communication. Stakeholder management: Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and navigate competing needs and priorities.
