Overview

Web Developer Business Analyst at Apex Systems. Long-term contract-to-hire. Hybrid - onsite 3x a week in Downtown HOU. The Web Development Business Analyst interfaces between business stakeholders and the technical application development team and is responsible for understanding and translating business needs to actionable requirements for application development.

Job Functions

  • Requirements gathering: Meet with internal stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document project goals, business needs, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Process analysis and modeling: Map existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement and facilitate design of more efficient processes.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including BRDs, FSDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria using internal templates.
  • Solution design and validation: Work with UX designers and developers to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that demonstrate the proposed solution.
  • Testing coordination: Coordinate planning and execution of testing phases including UAT to ensure the final product meets requirements.
  • Data analysis: Collect and analyze website metrics and user behavior data to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Liaison and communication: Facilitate communication between the business side and the technical team, ensuring alignment and understanding of technical concepts by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Agile methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Scrum to help refine and prioritize the product backlog with the development team.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Educational background: Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications: CBAP or PMI-PBA are valued.
  • Web technologies familiarity: General knowledge of HTML, CSS, .NET, JavaScript, and APIs.
  • Data and analytics tools: Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Azure Insights and Dynatrace desirable but not essential.
  • Project management and documentation tools: Experience with Microsoft applications including Project Online, ADO, Visio, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical and critical thinking: Ability to analyze complex problems and propose practical solutions.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder management: Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
