Overview

The Museum of Russian Art seeks contract Teaching Artists to facilitate hands-on visual arts workshops for seniors, youth, and families as part of a community-centered initiative supported by grant funding.

Contract Details

  • Compensation: $40/hour
  • Hours: 30 hours total, to include workshop facilitation, preparation and planning time, and team meetings
  • Contract Period: Between October 2025 and August 2026 (exact dates TBD; schedule to be determined by Teaching Artist in consultation with TMORA and partner sites)
  • Deadline to Apply: October 1, 2025
  • Location: Workshops take place at the museum and at community partner sites around the Twin Cities

About the Opportunity

We seek Teaching Artists as part of a project to deliver free workshops expanding access to high-quality arts experiences for underserved seniors and families around the Twin Cities. Workshops will take place at The Museum of Russian Art, in senior centers and senior living facilities, and at partner sites like public libraries.

What we are looking for

  • Are passionate about accessible, inclusive, and engaging art education
  • Have experience facilitating visual art workshops for one (or more) of the following populations: older adults, young people ages 4–12, and/or intergenerational groups
  • Can lead projects in accessible media such as painting, sculpture, collage, textiles
  • Are flexible and responsive to community needs and interests
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Are open to incorporating inspiration from TMORA’s collection and geographic focus
  • Are able to travel to TMORA and/or partner sites (Twin Cities Metro Area)

Teaching Artists will work closely with the TMORA's Director of Education, who will provide support with planning, curriculum development, materials, and program evaluation. All materials will be purchased by TMORA.
