A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
• Meet with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
• Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
• Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
• Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
• Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
• Use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for set up and strike; interact with staff and outside vendors for equipment.
• Assist with up-selling where appropriate and work with clients to finalize invoices.
• Complete order entries in Navigator, as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree is preferred.

• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
• Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements

Team members must be able to meet the physical demands to perform essential job functions. Note: the frequency options are defined as Continuously, Frequently, Occasionally, and Never. Must be able to:

• Sit, stand, walk, stoop, crawl, kneel, bend, reach, climb, and grasp as listed; ranges vary by task.
• Lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Hotel/convention center environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand and/or dust.
• High-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components; may involve lifts and ladders.
• irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays; appearance guidelines per Encore standards.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $15.09 - $18.49

Final compensation is based on location, travel, experience, and skills; some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
