Job Description

General Functions: The Video Surveillance Coordinator is an integral part of a team, playing a key role in the operation and monitoring of the Security Division\'s fire alarm and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system for the Convention Center. Work is performed under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations and results achieved.

Representative Duties/Assignments: Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Operates radio and facilitates electronic communications
  • Receive and evaluate calls from internal divisions and external agencies requesting assistance from both emergency and/or non-emergency incidents, obtain relevant information related to the situation and initiate appropriate actions to resolve the request
  • Adhere to established rules, regulations, policies and procedures as outlined in the Security SOP, IMAGE Manual and Orange County Policy & Procedures Manual
  • Operates remote CCTV and fire alarm systems
  • Acknowledges fire alarms, notifies Life Safety, Security and Facility Maintenance staff points of contact and provides direction to alarm points. Coordinates with on-scene Security personnel to address and resolve the incident
  • Notifies emergency agencies (Orange County Sheriff\'s Office and/or Orange County Fire Rescue) regarding current emergencies and ensures they are provided with pertinent information to accomplish their tasks
  • Coordinates communication with other law enforcement agencies (e.g., Secret Service, FBI) as applicable
  • Monitors cameras of affected areas upon notification of incidents or emergencies; continues monitoring until conclusion
  • Responsible for messaging on the Mass Notification system
  • Stays on the phone during emergencies to collect additional information (e.g., bomb threats or medicals)
  • Maintains paper and video logs according to Security Division departmental procedures
  • With the Squad Supervisor, determines if it is necessary to transfer any recorded incident to Digital Video Disc (DVD)
  • Operate the Security Division\'s Electronic Card Access Control System to ensure entry access for authorized personnel
  • Conduct an inventory/inspection of all cameras and equipment, ensuring operability; annotate the inspection in IMS. Submit a Service Request via Maximo for deficiencies and report to Information Systems Services (ISS). Notes in IMS will include the ISS tracking number

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years of experience in a multi-task environment communicating directly with the general public using a radio or telephone. May be required to possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License. Possession of a Florida Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification within 18 months of hire.

Pay Grade: 013 - From $20.88 to $27.14
