Overview

The Visual Merchandising Coordinator will provide VM support at the boutique level, reinforcing visual standards, upholding the brand identity and helping achieve retail excellence while driving sales growth. Based in the Los Angeles Corporate Office, this role will provide support on VM projects and operations across the Americas – collaborating closely with the VM team to ensure a unified and elevated brand presentation across all boutiques. The position reports to the Director of Visual Merchandising and Retail Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee visual merchandising execution and standards in Los Angeles boutiques weekly and South Coast Plaza monthly, with additional travel throughout the West region and the Americas as needed.
  • Conduct boutique visits to execute VM directives and provide VM training to the teams. Develop a relationship with the boutique teams to foster ownership and accountability.
  • Cultivate a culture where maintaining brand integrity and excellence is a shared responsibility, while ensuring the VM structure for display upkeep is followed with attention to detail and accountability.
  • Implement floor sets with excellent skill, creating cohesive fashion stories, adapting to meet each boutique’s individual needs.
  • Facilitate communication with boutiques, collect VM photos and provide guidance and feedback. Ensure execution of VM direction and standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain the region’s VM photos and communication log.
  • Partner with Regional Directors and Boutique Managers to successfully support current business trends with visual needs as they arise.
  • Review Best Seller reports and On-Hand inventory levels ensuring optimum use of product to increase sales in boutiques.
  • Collaborate closely with the VM team and Director to ensure consistency across regions, share insights from store visits, and develop visual strategies and project solutions that support the Americas as a whole.
  • Partner with the VM team and the Director in the editing and creation of Seasonal VM Directives and Trainings. Support the communication of VM Guidelines to regional teams, contributing to a consistent and elevated presentation across the Americas.
  • Work cross-departmentally with Global VM and Image teams; as well as local Buying & Planning, Store Development, Events and Retail Ops/Excellence teams.
  • Support the region in ordering VM Props, Tools and décor elements, ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Assist in sourcing and scheduling photography for store openings and special projects within the region.
  • Support new store openings, special event setups, and the visual merchandising of the LA showroom.
  • Stay up to date on current luxury market VM trends and apply creative solutions to enhance product presentation.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador while in boutiques, upholding the Maison Christian Louboutin client experience.

VM Project Support

  • Assist VM Director in maintaining the VM Project Tracker, ensuring all active initiatives and hard deadlines are documented.
  • Share ownership and partner with VM counterpart in maintaining the master VM calendar, ensuring that key activations, new store openings and special projects are communicated. Maintaining strong cross-regional communication to ensure alignment.
  • Upload and organize the internal digital filing system for all creative assets pertaining to windows, pop-ups and regional activations.
  • Support Director in samples coordination for windows and pop-ups with Global Image and external suppliers.
  • Facilitate timely delivery of campaign graphics and creative assets to boutiques.
  • Assist in the coordination of graphic installations in the region, including vendor scheduling, follow-up, and boutique communication.
  • Support the Director in coordinating and overseeing window and pop-up installations within region.
  • Partner with the VM team to collate photos, feedback and learnings from windows, pop-ups, vm tools, and product launches to share with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of VM experience in a luxury or similar retail environment.
  • Degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrates strong follow-up and follow-through, showing initiative.
  • Proactive and creative thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work effectively across the company.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a professional presentation.
  • Knowledgeable about current VM and design trends.
  • Creative with a refined sense of style, able to understand and implement the brand image.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, while receptive to direction and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time with flexibility.
  • Flexible work hours based on project needs – weekends and overnight installations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Team player in both retail and corporate environments, “no task is too big or too small” attitude; is committed, positive, and reliable.
  • Adheres to company policy and confidentiality - is a true ambassador for the brand with strong sense of corporate responsibility - setting the standard.

Christian Louboutin envisions the general compensation range for this position to be $55k- $65k per YEAR. Please note that this range is NOT inclusive of any other forms of compensation or benefits such as commissions overtime, discretionary bonus, health insurance, retirement savings or paid leaves of absence. Such details will be further communicated during the interview process and/or at the time of an official offer of employment.
