Technical Writer Job at LCI-Lawinger Consulting in Maplewood

Location: Preference for candidates to be near Austin or Minneapolis/Maplewood. Open to fully remote if necessary. Please submit writing sample with resume.

Responsibilities

• Process Mapping & Documentation – Develop and maintain detailed process maps for the full IT asset lifecycle (procurement to disposal).
• Use BPM tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS) to visualize workflows and dependencies.
• Create SOPs and process documentation aligned with ITIL and ISO standards.
• Process Analysis & Optimization – Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and compliance risks in current ITAM processes.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with ITAM, procurement, finance, and compliance teams to gather requirements and validate processes.
• Facilitate workshops and interviews to capture business needs and pain points.
• Governance & Compliance – Ensure mapped processes align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Support audit readiness by maintaining up-to-date process documentation and controls.
• Tool & System Integration – Collaborate with IT to align process maps with system workflows (e.g., GEP, CMDB, Axonious, SCCM).
• Assist in defining requirements for automation and integration of ITAM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, Business Process Analysis, or related roles.
• Proficiency in BPM tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Bizagi).
• Strong understanding of ITAM frameworks (ITIL, ISO 19770).
• Experience with ITSM/ITAM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Lansweeper).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Salary: $50-$55/hour
