Overview
Arcticom, a company within the BSNC family, is seeking a qualified MLS2 Technical Writer for a remote role. The technical writer will support testing of systems and applications that support end-to-end testing. The candidate should have experience designing, developing and maintaining technical documentation, as well as delivering on-the-job training as necessary. The candidate will be responsible for developing documentation and specifications for software systems, procedures and training materials, facilitating training for system users, and providing on-the-job training.

- Designing and developing technical documentation for software and non-software systems
- Building interactive eLearning courses and storylines
- Using eLearning software and authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Advanced PowerPoint, Articulate, etc.)
- Multi-media
- Defining objectives and curriculum outlines
- Developing technical documentation for technical and non-technical users
- Reviewing pertinent documentation (e.g., user stories, requirements, specifications, etc.)
- Analyzing documented requirements, developing supporting documentation and eliciting feedback from the subject matter experts and target audience (Developing specifications)
- Analyzing and interpreting specifications from which technical documentation will be written
- Developing technical procedures to support operational processing activities
- Create or modify plans and procedures to create technical documentation, considering requirements, intended use of the system, facility constraints and equipment, and involving system users
- Developing and modifying procedural manuals
- Developing training materials and reference guides

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS products including MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations
- Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Author, plan, develop, organize, write, and edit complex IT network survey, migration, design and implementation procedures, plans, and manuals
- Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
- Maintain schedules of multiple deployed networking teams
- Manage suspense system for all deliverables and ancillary documentation needs
- Interview and collaborate with stakeholders to capture, develop, and write technical documentation, migration/integration/implementation plans, flowcharts, processes, technical orders, SOPs, and more ensuring accuracy, readability, and ease of use
- Develop and write standardized tactical, techniques, and procedures
- Establish standards and document review checklists
- Understanding of project task-linked dependencies

Work Environment
The work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Additional Qualifying Factors
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
