Johnson & Johnson Technology (JJT) is recruiting for a Senior Director, XD to lead the enterprise-wide Experience Design organization. The role partners across Innovative Medicine, MedTech, Corporate Functions, and international regions to craft innovative digital experiences and capabilities that are relentlessly people-centric. From guiding patients through treatment to enabling employees to work seamlessly from anywhere, our digital tools aim to be novel, dexterous, and easy to use. Location: New Brunswick, NJ; Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ. Reports to: VP, Technology HR & Experience Design. Department: Johnson & Johnson Technology (JJT) - Enterprise Experience Design. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Design Leadership: drive the JJT XD strategy, service model, and roadmap in alignment with the JJT High-Performing Teams Operating Model. Define and evolve the enterprise XD strategy in line with business priorities and values. Lead and grow the XD chapter and its branches to become a design-led, people-centric organization. Present and advocate the XD vision to senior leadership. Manage elastic demand with strategic vendors. Cross-Business & Functional Collaboration: partner with leaders across MedTech, Innovative Medicine, HR, Quality, Legal, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Tech Services, Information Security, and more to co-create scalable experience solutions. Experiment with federated capabilities across regions to leverage XD synergy while supporting expansion. Facilitate alignment through design sprints, workshops, and co-creation sessions. Build business cases for XD investments with JJT leadership. Experience Design Execution: lead a multi-disciplinary XD team to create personas, customer journeys, service blueprints, prototypes, and storyboards. Develop journey maps and experience frameworks across employee and customer touchpoints. Deliver and manage XD products and solutions including the Global Design System and XD tooling. Build and scale DesignOps to standardize tools, staffing, and impact measurement. Ensure digital accessibility in all design outputs. Team Leadership & Development: attract, hire, and retain top design talent across functions, regions, and sectors. Mentor XD leaders, designers, and non-designers to grow design thinking capabilities. Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Establish career latticing and professional development pathways for design talent. Measurement & Impact: lead quarterly business reviews to ensure prioritization and alignment on objectives and key results. Establish KPIs and feedback loops to measure experience outcomes and drive continuous improvement. Use data and storytelling to demonstrate design value to senior leadership. Drive adoption of XD practices across the enterprise. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required (fields such as Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Technology, Engineering, Digital Product Management, or related). 15+ years in user or interaction design, with at least 5 years leading XD teams and managers. Proven track record in shaping design organizations and building high-performing teams. Experience crafting shared platforms, service-based teams, or Centers of Excellence. Advanced knowledge of information architecture, interaction design, and user-centered design principles. Strong blend of business strategy, technology experience, and human-centered design; ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences. Intellectual curiosity and awareness of industry trends in digital experience design; strong decision-making, consulting, and executive-level communication skills. Experience leading design capabilities in a product-focused technology organization; collaborative leader who builds inclusive teams. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $193,000 - $333,500 Annually. The company offers competitive, performance-based compensation programs and an annual performance bonus eligibility in accordance with applicable plans. Bonuses are discretionary and awarded based on individual and company performance.
