Gast Architects is an established, well-respected, eleven-person firm in San Francisco’s SOMA district that focuses on both new construction and renovations of custom, high-end residential projects in the Bay Area and beyond. $70K–$80K DOE | Full-time | $20K Benefits Package Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus We offer competitive pay ($70K to $80K depending on experience); a superior benefits package (Gold health plan, 100% of premiums paid by firm; profit sharing eligible on 1/1/2027); indoor bike storage and shower; and a casual, supportive environment. Our spacious design studio is located in a recently renovated, mixed-use development. The LEED Gold-certified historic warehouse includes a roof deck for lunches and a green roof. This position is full time and following proficiency in ArchiCAD, there is flexibility to work from home Mondays & Fridays. You must be a U.S. citizen or have a work permit. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Responsibilities and Qualifications

We are looking for a person with design talent and technical savvy to work with our principals and project architects to develop innovative designs in a collaborative project team work environment. Applicants should be able to show skill and experience, or the willingness to learn the following: Experience and deep interest in single family residential design, Type V wood-frame construction, residential products, and detailing. Actual construction experience is a plus. Demonstrate creative critical thinking and presentation skills BIM proficiency in 2-D drafting and 3-D modeling (we are an ArchiCAD office and will provide new designers who have BIM experience with significant training in the software) Experience in developing well-detailed Construction Documents as part of a team Knowledge of codes and regulations. Local experience in San Francisco is highly valued, but not expected. Strong communication skills, oral and written Personable, a team player with high integrity and a sense of humor Preference will be given to candidates with previous internship experience Seniority level
