Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is Hiring!

Join our team! We're looking for a customer-focused, bilingual Library Associate to support daily library operations and enhance services for our Spanish-speaking community. A portion of the job interview will be conducted in Spanish to confirm Spanish language proficiency.

Position: Full-time Library Associate - Spanish Services - Carbondale Branch Library
Hours: 40 hours/week
Pay: $21.35 - $27.25/hour (based on library specific experience)
Benefits: This position will be eligible to participate in the employee benefits package. District benefits currently include medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans; District-paid disability (short-term and long-term), life insurance, and EAP. The District currently participates in a 401(a) plan in which the employee and employer both contribute 3%. Participation in the 401(a) plan is mandatory, employee deductions are made on a pre-tax basis, and the employer contributions are 100% vested after five years. This position includes paid holidays, sick time, vacation time, a 457B retirement plan with up to 3% District match, and wellness reimbursement.

About the Role:
Join GCPLD and make a positive impact by supporting Spanish services at our Carbondale Branch. In this role, you will:

? Support the Spanish services functions of the library.
? Assist with planning and leading Spanish-language/bilingual programs, outreach, and events.
?Help maintain and promote the Spanish collection.
?Participate in the library district's Spanish Services Team.
?Act as a bridge between the library and the Spanish-speaking community.
? Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with check-ins, renewals, issuing cards, and payments.
? Answer reference questions, offer Reader Advisory services, and help locate materials.
? Assist patrons with public computers, printers, scanners, and other technology needs.
? Design and update library displays, signage, and promotional materials.
? Ensure a safe and welcoming environment by following opening/closing procedures and maintaining library policies.

?? Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage time effectively.
?? Comfortable working with diverse patrons of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
?? Willing to learn, adapt to change, and take initiative.
?? Able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Requirements:
???? High school diploma or equivalent required.
???? One year of clerical or customer service experience preferred, with proficiency in technology (Microsoft Suite, Apple products, and web browsers).
???? Associate's degree or higher is a plus, but not required.
????? Bilingual Spanish/English skills required
