Salary range: $15/hour
Summary Statement: Animation Studio Monitors help provide daily management, maintenance, access to, and assistance with the materials and tools available to Animation students, staff and faculty.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Assist students with animation Q&A, managing studio equipment, ensuring correct function of software and maintaining a clean and friendly studio environment.
- Train patrons new to animation, dragonframe and general camera use.
- Ensure all students follow safety and proper procedures when using equipment.
- Help with ongoing organization of studio materials, tool inventory, clean up and management of purchased and donated materials.
- Help develop, communicate and enforce policies for organization, access and cleanup of the studio.
- Work with your supervisor, faculty and staff on special projects as needed (i.e., designing/hanging posters, cutting vinyl, prepping for events, inventory, re-organization, and end-of-semester prep)
- Interact with tour groups, classes, and other visitors to the studio.
- Develop one or more student-run animation workshop(s).

- Working in teams through Animation-sponsored events/workshops
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Student Employee should be able to:
- Work in a studio setting, using various non-toxic materials and tools.
- Manual dexterity to use hand tools and equipment.
- Strength to lift tools and materials (around 35 lb).
Necessary Skills:
- Animation, photography or audio/video experience.
- Desire to tinker and figure out how to make things (safely).
- Fearlessness with organization, management and cleanliness.
- Thrifty, efficient use of shared materials and limited resources.
- Courteous and professional demeanor with students, faculty, and staff. (The Animation Studio prioritizes inclusivity, and the ideal candidate is committed to making the Animation Studio a safe space for all.)
- Willingness to ask questions when they don’t know or understand something.
- Comfort with enforcing rules and procedures among their peers.
- Comfort speaking about the studio, its tools, materials and processes, and the kinds of courses and projects that students are working on in the space
- Prior physical animation experience with various materials.
