Overview

Opportunity at a Glance. This position is responsible for directing the development and implementation of marketing strategy for assigned institution or Center of Excellence. This includes (but is not limited to) digital marketing channels, branding objectives and strategies, and marketing communications. The Senior Director is also responsible for managing the marketing staff and agency partners and working in cooperation with various functional teams to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the operations of the Marketing Department to ensure marketing services are provided
  • Guides and directs the development of the creative work to the organization's advertising and marketing efforts
  • Oversees all marketing communications including branding, print, public relations, collateral materials, direct marketing activities, events, conferences and the website
  • Develops annual brand planning process and leads the overall development of marketing plans and strategy
  • Leads the identification and development of new product and service offerings and serves as marketing lead on new product initiatives
  • Ensures the positioning is articulated in a clear and consistent manner in all communication vehicles
  • Selects, trains, motivates and develops marketing staff and builds strong productive relationships with key functional areas
  • Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, supports marketing objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources
  • Tracks, measures and evaluates the results of marketing programs in order to recommend and execute changes to the plan
  • Directs market research and translates insights into meaningful strategies and tactics and implements as needed
  • Leads periodic brand performance reviews to ensure that brand strategies and performances remain on target in relation to overall corporate objectives
  • Develops and oversees management of marketing budget and ensures projects are completed on time, and on budget
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree (MBA) preferred, or other advanced degree
  • 10 years marketing experience, ideally in product/brand management
  • Additional experience in other product or marketing roles preferred
  • Experience in new product development process – ideation, design, development, launch
  • Experience with strategic marketing – competitive assessment, market analysis
  • Experience with a range of consumer research methodologies
  • Experience/exposure in implementing product or brand marketing structure and approach in an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer marketing skills to a broad range of products or services (and ultimately higher education)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment where coordination and integration is critical
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes
  • Passion for education is a plus

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $137,846.78 and $249,127.02. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
