About the Role

Monks is looking to expand our creative service capabilities by hiring a Freelance Senior Video Editor. Reporting to the Associate Director of Animation, you will be a trailblazer helping to build the creative offering for a top performance marketing agency. You will partner with our media buying team and alongside clients to develop creative that drives results. We are looking for a fast, flexible go-getter with a sharp eye, adept skills, and the drive to deliver top-notch creative for our clients.

You’ll be responsible for editing short-form paid media ads for digital channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) both net-new and from existing client materials. You’ll be somewhat of a motion generalist, at times jumping from animation into short-form video editing.

Responsibilities

• Creative: Collaborate with designers and producers to create ads driving performance results for client media programs; knowledge in color grading, VFX and sound design; basic 3D text animation is a plus; strong time management and ability to lead multiple motion-based projects with tight timelines; project manage yourself across multiple projects; own revision and resizing projects for large clients; conceptualize animated content optimized for paid media channels; understand or willingness to learn paid media channel best practices; fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects and Premiere Pro).
• Soft Skills: Self-starter, problem-solver and team-player; effectively communicate animation concepts to creative and non-creative teammates; articulate animation choices and defend decisions; offer new angles and practical solutions to editing/workflows; openness to team and client feedback.

About You

The essentials

• 4–6 years of technical experience with video editing and light motion design, preferably at a performance-focused agency
• Strong ability to create precise edits for paid channels
• Experience in end-to-end editing process and seamless delivery of online edits
• Basic understanding of color grading, SFX and sound design
• Portfolio is required
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in After Effects and Premiere
• Experience in paid media ad editing and animation
• 4-year college degree (preferably in design) or equivalent work experience

Not a must, but a plus

• Experience with HTML5 ad animation
• Experience using Gen AI tools for ad builds and concepting
• Experience building versioning workflows or working with automated versioning tools
• Familiarity with Google suite
• B2C and B2B experience

What We Offer

Monks has provided an hourly rate that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. The rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Hourly Rate: $40—$55 USD
