Key Responsibilities

  • Media/Influencer Relations and direction of staff to develop relationships with business, broadcast and influencer media
  • Creative use of social media channels to engage and support efforts
  • Ongoing engagement of media for the agency (e.g., blog Q&A, lunch talks)
  • Measure ROI of communications activities
  • Influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification
  • Client Service/Management: deliver exemplary service, develop and maintain strong client relationships, understand clients’ business, competitors and industry bodies
  • Develop strategic communications plans, deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Understand financials of each account and manage hours vs. fees; maintain monthly client billing accuracy
  • Proactively communicate with clients on status of deliverables and budget
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth and hit revenue targets
  • Develop and maintain strong media relationships; stay informed on market trends and client needs
  • Own account management and ensure programs include writing/editing, media relations, social media, digital communications and crisis work as appropriate
  • Be an ambassador for the agency
  • Mentor junior staff and lead by example; staff development and strategic guidance
  • Participate in new business processes and identify targets
  • Attend networking events and maintain professional attitude
  • Use Highwire social channels; contribute to Highwire blog
  • Write and edit campaign plans, press releases, fact sheets, bios, pitches, Q&As, and related materials
  • Deliver creative, consistent pitches and manage internal/external relationships
  • Collaborate on agency operations; manage and develop a team with direct reports
  • Support flexible work policies and drive projects forward independently
  • Attend to deadlines and follow through with tasks

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of PR agency experience
  • Strong academic background, particularly in English and/or Business
  • Core consumer brand PR experience with knowledge of corporate PR and crisis management
  • Experience handling reactive and proactive press office inquiries
  • Experience measuring ROI of communications activities
  • Experience with influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification
  • Excellent publicity skills and understanding of media/editorial requirements
  • Creativity and innovative thinking; broad media network
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful PR campaigns from inception to delivery
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills; internally and externally
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; team player under pressure
  • Adaptability to flexible and changing environments
