Overview

Graphic Design, Editorial, & Communications Co-Op (Undergraduate Students) at MBTA. The role supports the Office of Performance Management and Innovation (OPMI) with design, editorial, and communications across multiple formats, with a focus on enhancing the MBTA Data Blog, microsites, and related publications. Co-ops will gain experience managing multiple projects, collaborating with multiple departments, and working with various datasets. Responsibilities

Design and maintain OPMI website, in collaboration with others. Create communications and materials that are compelling to diverse audiences and accurate in meaning. Produce visual content (infographics, flowcharts, handouts, layouts) for marketing, communications, and training. Identify, organize, and select information to create narratives for various media. Contribute to writing and editing processes for OPMI web posts. Manage web content and proofread/edit documents and materials. Participate in team and staff meetings, organization events, and project teams. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Communicate findings through reports, diagrams, charts, graphs, infographics, presentations, web postings, or posters; create or edit narratives to accompany products. Qualifications

Enrolled for the entire duration of employment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college/university. Advanced writing skills in English; strong visual design skills; intermediate web design skills. Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments and independently. Ability to commute to assigned work locations in the Boston, MA metro area as required. Authorized to work in the United States (international students in CPT, STEM, or OPT programs through a university are eligible to apply). Work Arrangements

The Graphic Design, Editorial, & Communications Co-Op is a full-time, six-month position (January – June). Co-ops are expected to work 40 hours per week from 9:00am to 5:00pm. OPMI is a hybrid office; co-ops work in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and may work remotely on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The office is located at 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, accessible by transit and to people with disabilities. A laptop will be provided for work, and accommodations can be made as needed.
