Job Title: Social Media Specialist

Department: Digital Engagement

Location: Riedman Campus

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The position is responsible for developing and executing engaging content that supports Rochester Regional Health’s social media strategy and brand objectives. This role will support the organization’s marketing and communications strategy by creating, scheduling, monitoring, and analyzing content across a variety of social media channels. The role will work collaboratively with the Social Media Strategist, Marketing and Communications teams, and other departments to amplify the voice of Rochester Regional Health across digital channels.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Publishing: Develop original, platform-specific content including graphics, videos, and animations. Manage daily social media scheduling, publishing, and coverage of events through real-time updates.
  • Community Engagement & Monitoring: Respond to comments, messages, and reviews while monitoring trends, hashtags, and news cycles. Ensure content aligns with brand standards, accessibility, HIPAA, and tone guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Campaign Support: Work closely with Marketing, Communications, Creative, and Content teams to support campaigns, events, and enterprise initiatives. Contribute creative ideas and support paid social efforts.
  • Analytics & Strategy Optimization: Track and analyze social media metrics to inform strategy. Maintain a detailed content calendar, manage social listening tools, and stay updated on platform changes and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
  • 2 years of professional social media experience creating digital content for social media, websites, blogs, or marketing campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent storytelling instincts and strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and with teams as it relates to projects.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, accessibility standards, and brand compliance in digital spaces.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Brandwatch, Google Analytics, Piwik PRO).
  • Healthcare or nonprofit experience.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of audience targeting, platform nuances, and social trends.
  • Enthusiastic about making healthcare information and services more engaging, human, and accessible to the community.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft platform-appropriate messaging.
  • Proficiency in social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
  • Experience with design and content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, Figma).

Physical Requirements

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
