This is an exciting opportunity to work across diverse genres—including romantasy, young adult, horror, and contemporary romance—while leveraging and growing your established network of media contacts. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive self-starter with proven success securing impactful national and regional coverage and a genuine passion for books. Responsibilities

  • Pitch and secure high-profile national, regional, and online media coverage (print, TV, radio, podcasts, blogs, reviews).
  • Lead media outreach for cover reveals, excerpts, and exclusives; manage targeted media mailings.
  • Write compelling press releases, pitch letters, and galley letters.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with journalists, reviewers, influencers, and emerging media outlets.
  • Provide proactive, professional and timely communication and support to authors.
  • Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to execute integrated campaigns.
  • Partner with outside publicity agencies on select titles.
  • Research and cultivate new media opportunities to expand reach.
  • Share publicity updates and contribute to sales presentations.
  • Assist with additional publicity support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in publicity, PR, or communications (publishing/media experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven ability to secure significant media coverage for both established and debut authors.
  • Strong, active relationships with national and regional media contacts across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Excellent writing, pitching, and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in romance, fantasy, YA, horror, and/or contemporary genres.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Muck Rack preferred.
  • Collaborative, solutions-focused team player with a proactive mindset.
