Overview
Radio Access Network (RAN) Support Engineer position located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Join to apply for the Radio Access Network (RAN) Support Engineer role at Ansco & Associates, LLC.
Responsibilities
- Support pre- and post-launch optimization and alarm management for UMTS/LTE RF networks.
- Serve as a key member of the Network Support Team to facilitate deployment of new sites/carriers to improve coverage and the UMTS and LTE footprint in various markets.
- Support Construction and alarm-clearing crews to ensure minimum impact to LIVE network while adding new elements to the network.
- Identify, track, and resolve hardware/software issues related to BBU, RRU, RET systems to facilitate deployment of new sites/carriers.
- Identify, track and resolve transmission issues (e.g., RSSI, VSWR, SWAP sectors, incorrect azimuths).
- Identify, track and resolve fiber link issues (e.g., high BER, high fiber loss, SFP mismatch).
- Create and implement scripts to account for hardware changes on site to support construction crews and minimize impact to customer KPIs (e.g., radio type changes, RET configuration after antenna swaps, SQUIDs added on site).
- Read and implement design documents such as RFDS and RNDCIQ.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related field (foreign education equivalent accepted) plus one (1) year of experience as a RAN Support Engineer, RF Engineer or related in a customer RAN network; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related field (foreign education equivalent accepted) plus three (3) years of experience as a RAN Support Engineer, RF Engineer or related in a customer RAN network.
- Experience clearing alarms and providing technical support for UMTS/WCDMA and LTE RAN technologies.
- Experience with Ericsson ENM, AMOS, RMAP, CEX, Element Manager, Business Objects.
- Experience with Ericsson hardware such as RUs, RRUs, RBS3000/RBS6000 cabinets; familiarity with antenna systems, amplifiers, RX/ATT and other RF transmission line elements.
