The Times-News in Twin Falls, Idaho, is looking for a motivated, curious and self-sufficient journalist for its sports reporter position.

The sports department covers 28 high schools across eight counties in south-central Idaho, as well as the College of Southern Idaho, a nationally competitive junior college. The sports department also covers American Legion baseball during the summer and a handful of rodeos throughout the year.

We're always looking to grow our presence in the community, and the sports reporter will help contribute to that. No story is too big or small.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and produce own stories and shoot video as part of daily workflow.
• Cover 28 high schools across eight counties, the College of Southern Idaho, American Legion baseball in summer, and select rodeos.
• Contribute from day one and participate in community engagement to grow the publication’s presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience covering sports, whether professionally or as a college student.
• Ability to pitch and produce stories; photography experience is a plus but not required.
