Position Overview

As a digital sports video producer you will create engaging content for KSLSports.com and all affiliated social media accounts. You will work and produce sports content before, during and after sporting events while collaborating with our radio and TV departments.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

What You Will Do

  • Create engaging video sports content for use on digital platforms (web, app, social) using creativity, speed, and appropriate technique
  • Edit video segments from KSL Sports streaming events for use on YouTube and other digital platforms
  • Have an in-depth understanding of all social media platforms and how video impacts and drives engagement on each platform’s algorithm
  • Respond to breaking news promptly with compelling content to join trending conversations
  • Assist in creating long-term video strategy and content plans for KSL Sports platforms
  • Collaborate with other content creators, taking part in video content creation across multiple platforms (TV and radio)
  • Work effectively in a team, deadline-driven environment
  • Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients
  • Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills And Experience We Are Looking For

  • College degree in digital content/development, journalism or related field
  • Two (2) years’ video editing experience or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment
  • Experience with Adobe Creative / Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional sports knowledge, including strong knowledge of the Utah sports scene
  • Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi-platform distribution
  • Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape, including creating content for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms
  • Experience with WordPress preferred
  • Expertise using social media platforms to curate and promote news content
  • Ability to produce content efficiently and concisely under deadline pressure and to manage stress effectively
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and proven ability to safely drive personal vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 45 pounds on occasion.

Compensation

$18.00 - $20.50 per hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
