Geographic Information System Specialist - FMC

Leads the development and implementation of databases for GIS applications and analysis. Performs digitizing and data manipulation procedures for geographic information systems. Plans, coordinates, and prepares special projects with initial design sheets and maps to aid staff in mapping activities and decision making. Participates in professional group meetings; maintains current knowledge of new developments in GIS. Responsible for the development, editing, and distribution of map layer information to city, county and state agencies. Provides assistance to map users in the use of CAD Mapping and Arc GIS software. Coordinates with Communications Technicians, PSAPS, City, County and State to edit, maintain, and correct map data to state guidelines of 95% accuracy. Updates maps with new data as it is received (subdivisions, developments, and other projects). Conducts map data maintenance and resolves conflicting information to ensure data accuracy. Creates guidelines for GIS data accrual, organization, and disbursement. Attends user conference education and user group functions for latest software implementation. Demonstrates knowledge of converting GIS data and various databases into documents and maps to assist in problem-solving and urban planning. Maintains knowledge of Guardian Medical Transports CAD software and mapping software. Demonstrates knowledge of GIS as it pertains to Public Safety and Emergency Response. IT Support
Leads special projects and provides a wide variety of support services to leadership and GMT staff. Collaborates to prepare the GIS/IT budget. Uploads equipment data into systems and transfers into EMS charts. Ensures routing of 12 Lead EKGs to Care Point. Coordinates with NAH IT on project management and support. Performs daily troubleshooting in support of users on IT systems, in person or remotely. Performs emergency outage planning. Travels to remote locations for job site work and remote bases. Provides IT technical support and maintenance for specialized IT systems used at Guardian Medical Transport and Guardian Air. Operations Management
Serves as resource/adviser on information systems for end-user problem resolution with other agencies. Coordinates Zoll data communications to resolve end-user problems. Collaborates with Fire/EMS agencies and county PSAPS to ensure accurate response areas and addressing. Collaborates with contract fire districts and as a GIS specialist resource for Wildland Fires. Attends area GIS coordination meetings. Coordinates map street centerline and other GIS data with dispatch, city, state and federal agencies within our CON. Supports Communications Center Operations during routine and emergency repairs and maintenance. Metrics & Analytics Management
Collaborates with the director to extract data from IT software into usable data sets. Compiles metric reports illustrating analytics for ambulance operations. Assists with data extraction and report compilation for current projects. Provides data to community partners and fire districts for analytics and dispatching contracts. Builds and schedules custom crystal reports. Provides resources to extract and analyze metrics from Guardian Medical Transport and Guardian Air programs. Compliance/Safety
Reports safety-related incidents promptly and attends safety training; performs work safely and monitors the work environment. Stays current with state and federal regulations and company policies that impact the role. Ensures necessary certifications/licenses are up-to-date if required. Completes mandatory modules and job-specific training within the required time frame. Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of progressively responsible related experience in designing and building GIS databases, and coursework at a technical or vocational school or through internet technical courses Required Associates degree in GIS, Public Safety Administration, or closely related field; and 3 years applicable related experience Required Bachelors degree in GIS, Public Safety Administration, or closely related field; and 1 year of other applicable related experience Required Certification & Licensures Geographical Information System Professional (GISP) certification: Preferred Experience ESRI Arc View Software: Required ESRI Arc GIS Software: Required Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
