Dexian has been engaged to identify an experienced IT Director - Marketing Technology to lead the strategy, delivery, and governance of our client's Marketing IT portfolio. This Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire opportunity is reporting to Vice President, Information Technology, at the corporate location in Dublin, California, and offers a hybrid work schedule.

This leader will be responsible for building and managing a cross-functional technology delivery team to implement and operate enterprise-class MarTech solutions including CRM/CDP, Loyalty, Customer and Marketing Analytics (Snowflake), ESP platforms, AI/GenAI for Marketing, Customer Portal & Mobile App, and Consent Management. The IT Director will serve as the strategic partner to Marketing, and Customer Experience leaders, while managing vendor/ SI relationships and ensuring delivery of value to the business. This is a critical role in shaping customer engagement and personalization capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

Lead the Marketing IT delivery team (ex - Sr. Delivery Manager, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Business Analyst, and additional supporting resources). Define and own the Marketing IT roadmap aligned to enterprise architecture, digital strategy, and business priorities. Partner with cross functional teams - Marketing, Customer Experience, Data & Analytics, Stores, IT and Security teams to deliver seamless solutions.

Program & Delivery Management

Oversee delivery of multiple MarTech initiatives including CRM/CDP, Loyalty, ESP, Consent Management, Customer Portal & Mobile. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Establish governance, metrics, and reporting for program execution. Balance agile delivery approaches with enterprise program management rigor.

Technology Oversight

Provide oversight of solution design across CRM, Loyalty, ESP, Snowflake, and Consent platforms. Ensure platforms integrate into the enterprise data and identity ecosystem. Maintain a focus on data quality, compliance, and customer privacy. Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI/GenAI for marketing and drive pilots and adoption.

Vendor & Partner Management

Manage vendor relationships. Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor performance reviews. Ensure SIs and vendors deliver quality, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

Financial & Risk Management

Manage program budgets, forecasts, and reporting. Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery and operational risks. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required. Master\'s degree preferred. Experience

12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5+ years in Marketing Technology and Retail IT. Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional MarTech implementations (CRM/CDP, Loyalty, ESP, Customer Experience Portals/App, Analytics). Experience working in Retail is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in vendor/SI management and large-scale program delivery. Strong background in customer data, analytics, and consent/privacy management. Familiarity with technology platforms such as Snowflake, Salesforce, Epsilon, Adobe, OneTrust, or similar platforms. Skills & Competencies

Strategic leadership with hands-on delivery mindset. Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills. Financial acumen: budget ownership, ROI measurement. Deep understanding of MarTech architecture (integration, APIs, data flows). Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance practices. Ability to lead diverse teams (onshore/offshore, internal/external). Certifications (preferred but not required)

PMP, SAFe/Agile Program Mgmt. Marketing Cloud / CRM/ CDP. Cloud (ex - Azure), Snowflake, or Data Engineering. Privacy certifications are a plus.
