Job Summary
Our client is seeking a creative, ambitious, and detail-oriented Mid-Level Landscape Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in a design-build setting, strong 3D modeling and architectural drafting skills, and the ability to solve complex design challenges. This role involves close collaboration with the studio lead, project managers, clients, and construction teams to create sustainable, high-end gardens that evoke emotion and meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality landscape designs, construction documents, estimates, and proposals for presentation

• Collaborate with design and sales staff to deliver creative, high-end solutions

• Perform site surveys, inventory, and analysis to assess existing conditions and design opportunities

• Develop design solutions using both hand and computer graphics (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite)

• Work with construction teams to ensure design intent is implemented accurately

• Attend client meetings and site layouts as needed

• Provide design input and constructive feedback to elevate the overall quality of work

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines

• Contribute to client satisfaction through clear communication and quality results

• Continue professional development, keeping current with industry trends and techniques

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (accredited program)

• 5-10 years of experience in residential landscape architecture

• Advanced understanding of spatial relationships and design for high-end residential gardens

• Strong freehand illustration, rendering, visualization, and graphic skills

• Excellent drafting skills; proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign & Photoshop

• Ability to produce detailed 3D models in SketchUp reflecting build-ready designs

• Strong knowledge of plants, hardscape, and structural design

• Understanding of construction techniques and associated costs

• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and graphic)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Reliable transportation for site visits in the Los Angeles area
