Overview

As a Post-Production Coordinator and Editor for King Studio, you will be a creative and logistical hybrid, responsible for hands-on video editing for Zach King's long-form YouTube narratives while also managing the post-production workflow for high-volume content. This role requires an individual who can both tell compelling stories through editing and meticulously coordinate projects to ensure they are organized, on schedule, and meet quality standards. A core responsibility of this position is overseeing visual effects work, from planning and communication with VFX artists to reviewing shots for quality, continuity, and creative alignment. You should bring not only a strong editing background but also a working knowledge of visual effects processes (compositing, 3D integration, and set extensions) to guide projects from shoot through final delivery.

Responsibilities

• Post-Production Coordinator Responsibilities: Play a key role in supporting the post-production workflow, tracking the progress of various projects and ensuring necessary assets are delivered to the right people. This includes assigning tasks to and hiring freelance artists, negotiating rates, coordinating with our internal team, and ensuring timelines are met.
• Proactive Communication & Follow-Up: Act as a vital link in ensuring we have what we need to keep projects moving. This means proactively following up with internal teams for footage, freelancers for drafts, and other team members for notes. You will ensure tasks are completed efficiently, contributing to a smoother workflow for the wider team.
• Workflow & System Utilization: Track project timelines and communicate updates across teams. You\'ll also leverage Frame.io to organize and review creative assets and notes for freelance and internal artists.
• Quality Control: Review and evaluate work submitted by VFX artists and sound designers, consolidating and organizing feedback from producers and team leads. You\'ll provide clear, actionable notes, communicate revisions, and ensure all creative elements align with King Studio\'s benchmarks before final delivery.
• Asset Management & Archiving: Organize and archive project materials within Frame.io and Google Drive, ensuring a structured and accessible repository for all content.

Video Editor Responsibilities

• Video Editing & Content Creation: Be instrumental in crafting engaging long-form YouTube content for Zach King, along with occasional brand deal projects. You will manage the full editing process from initial assembly to final delivery, ensuring all videos meet quality standards and project specifications.
• Technical Editing Proficiency: Utilize Adobe Premiere Pro as the primary editing software, with occasional use of DaVinci Resolve for color grading and After Effects for templates and titles.
• Sound Design & Graphics: Implement effective sound design, including sourcing music, editing audio within Premiere, and building immersive soundscapes. You will also create and incorporate titles and graphics that enhance retention and engagement within the YouTube format.
• Creative Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Creative Producers, Directors, and other team members to understand the project vision and incorporate feedback.
• Content Strategy & Optimization: Stay up-to-date with current YouTube strategies and trends to optimize content for audience engagement and retention. You will also manage Snapchat content posting as needed, overseeing the preparation and scheduling of video content for stories and Spotlight.

Experience : 3-5 years of proven expertise in video editing with a strong portfolio showcasing a proficiency in visual effects and motion graphics, and 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced creative or production environment with a strong interest in post-production.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is essential, along with a working knowledge of Photoshop. You should have a solid grasp of sound design principles, including audio editing and mixing.

Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Frame.io, and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive) is a strong advantage.

Storytelling & Strategy: Exceptional storytelling abilities with an innate understanding of pacing and visual narrative. Familiarity with YouTube content strategies and what drives engagement on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Proactive & Adaptable: A self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where project scopes may evolve.

Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across creative, production, and VFX teams. Able to clearly convey feedback and manage expectations.

On-Site Requirement: This role requires you to be on-site 5 days per week.
