Overview

The Full-Stack Web Developer/SME will design, develop, and maintain digital products that modernize legacy systems for the House of Representatives, including HouseCal/Deconflict, Legidex, and Personas. This role requires expertise across front-end and back-end development, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in collaboration with the House Digital Service team.

Work location is remote: Client prefers candidates in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas.

Pay rate: $60-65hr

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our W2 consultants, we offer a benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using HTML, CSS, ReactJS/TypeScript, Nuxt, Node.js, SQL, Redis, and Python.
• Build, troubleshoot, and maintain complex ETL jobs and pipelines using Pentaho Data Integration to aggregate data from multiple data sources.
• Build REST APIs for consumption by other applications using DreamFactory and Directus.
• Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) with proprietary data sources for RAG applications.
• Develop administrative content management dashboards using Directus and custom TypeScript/Javascript/ReactJS.
• Work with containerization deployment technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build, run, and troubleshoot complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including monorepo deployments with many projects.
• Design and optimize database schemas for Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Integrate applications with Microsoft Entra App Registrations and Enterprise Registrations using OAuth2 and MSAL.

Experience & Education

• Direct experience with the House of Representatives and/or the U.S. Senate.
• 10+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• No degree required.
