Position Overview:
The Office Library Access Services is seeking candidates for Library Late Night Study Area Manager.
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Access Services staff, signs in before shift begins, records usage statistics on excel spread sheet, answers general questions, remains visible in designated sitting area when not performing other designated duties, monitors food & noise in latenite/lab areas, general maintenance (e.g. spills), contacts Campus Police and/or supervisor in emergencies, ensures users do not remove library material – places said material onto cart, ensures library is clear of all users at closing time (includes checking the labs, bathrooms and vending machine area), other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Must be responsible, dependable and reliable. Ability to work alone, good customer service skills, minimal computer skills, assertive during challenging situations, ability to make decisions, ability to work late night hours a must.
Position is available for full academic year (August 22 2025 until May 22 2026). Fall 2025 Semester: Must be able to work both Friday nights 10pm-2am and Saturday Nights 10pm-2am with the possibility to cover M-Th 10:45pm-2am and Sun 9:45pm-2am in case of emergencies Spring 2026 Semester: TBD
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitors Late Night Study Area
- Collects User Statistics
- Ensures all patrons have left the building at closing
- Calls Campus Police or Supervisor if any emergencies arise
- Field questions and comments from patrons about study area hours
