Job Description
As a User Experience (UX) Designer, you own outcomes for one mature project, complex program, or emerging area. You accomplish this by navigating and defining a scalable and sustainable approach to solve difficult problems with limited precedent and/or by developing and evangelizing long-term user experience & product strategy for your team. You influence by guiding the momentum of multiple adjacent design efforts and/or by providing alternative perspectives that challenge prevailing thinking against common objectives and/or by provoking greater divergence of thinking. You apply your expertise as a subject-matter expert in UX design principles, user-centered product development methodologies, design systems, and research tools. You collaborate with others to analyze or anticipate user needs, resolve constraints, mitigate risks, lead the implementation of holistic design processes, define user experience/product strategy, and explore innovative solutions that consider and mitigate unintentional harm.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with engineers to communicate, negotiate, and influence design intent. Guide design specifications for implementation.
- Use and propose data and metrics to evaluate product impact, understand the ecosystem, user trends, and industry benchmarks.
- Drive design improvements based on UX testing and stakeholder input, and engage stakeholders to achieve product goals.
- Build consensus across teams, communicate design approaches, and address challenges.
- Develop project priorities aligned with larger goals, coordinate resources, and expand responsibilities where appropriate.
- Create design solutions based on insights, business needs, and industry trends to support KPIs.
- Innovate in design solutions, anticipate constraints, and communicate rationale.
- Drive holistic design processes, systems, or language across teams, perform testing, and support a shared design vision.
- Guide or conduct user research to inform design concepts.
- Apply and adapt UX design frameworks, visualize ideas, develop prototypes, and ensure accessibility and style guidelines are followed.
- Propose UX improvements through collaboration, analyzing user needs, and solving strategic or technological constraints.
Minimum qualifications include proficiency in data analysis, product design, interactive technology, UX research, product lifecycle, aesthetics, user behavior, presentations, storytelling, systems thinking, and craftsmanship.
