Valle Vista Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults, and offers inpatient acute care, residential care for adolescents and a variety of outpatient services at multiple locations. Position Summary:

The Recreation Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for the assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Requirements:

Education/Licensure: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Art, Music, Dance, Yoga or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline. Certification or licensure in Recreation, Art, Music, Yoga or Dance therapy.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness (preferred).

Additional Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License.

Work Hours: Sunday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Must be able to work 8 hours/day. May have to work overtime for special events.
