Responsibilities

Certified Activity Therapist - Recreation, Music, Art, Yoga and Dance at Valle Vista Health System (a UHS facility).

Valle Vista Health System: Valle Vista Health System is a 132-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Greenwood, IN. It offers inpatient acute care, residential care for adolescents, and a variety of outpatient services at multiple locations; it serves over 10,000 patients annually and supports local nursing students and other behavioral health professionals as a teaching facility.

Position Summary: The Recreation Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for the assigned program, defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Requirements

Education/Licensure: Bachelor\'s Degree in Art, Music, Dance, Yoga or Recreation Therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline from an accredited college or university. Certification or licensure in Recreation, Art, Music, Yoga or Dance therapy.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License.

Work Hours: Sunday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Must be able to work 8 hours/day. May require overtime for special events.
